Planet Desolation stretched out before them, a yellow sphere of despair. Mountains, tall and razor-sharp, rose from the surface. Their peaks looked like twisted claws, as if the planet itself wanted to trap the intruders. There was no sign of life, not even a whisper of wind. Only a sepulchral silence.
The atmosphere was a sickly yellow, as if tainted by sadness and fear. Sunlight filtered through it, creating distorted shadows on the ground. The scientists and engineers looked at each other, sensing the terror emanating from the planetary landscape.
The interior of the planet was even worse. The caves and caverns were filled with eerie murmurs. The walls seemed to pulsate, as if the planet itself was alive and suffering. Twisting corridors led to bottomless chasms, and flickering lights barely illuminated the way. Scientists and engineers clung to their spacesuits, feeling the urge to escape.
Every step on Planet Desolation provoked a sense of wanting to flee, to return to the safety of their ship. But they were trapped, forced to face the horror that loomed over them. Whispering voices told them there was no escape, that the planet had chosen them as its prey.
On the horizon, a mountain higher than the others loomed. Its peak was shrouded in a yellow mist, and the scientists and engineers knew that this was the clue to their fate.
