Not written by a hand. But like memories slowly becoming visible. When the heart awakens, the paths remember. Beneath it, a drawing appeared. A vast underground hall filled with gears and ancient chains. And in the middle of it: a black door. Waldemar's heart beat faster. For on the door was the exact same symbol as on his device. Robin stared at the drawing. "That's beneath the castle." The Guardian nodded slowly. "The Chamber of the First Gates." No sooner had he spoken the words than the earth began to tremble more violently than before. High above in the castle, dozens of windows flickered open simultaneously. Black mist crept between the walls like living shadows, and from deep within the fortress, a sound suddenly arose that made even the guards recoil in alarm. Metallic chains. Ripping chains. The Guardian jerked his head up. "Too late," he whispered. At that same instant, the device in Waldemar's hands began to pulse faster. The golden light no longer shot only toward the castle, but spread across the forest floor like luminous lines. Circles formed among the roots. Ancient symbols glowed on stones and tree trunks. And amidst all these signs, a new sentence suddenly appeared. Not spoken. Not written. But directly in Waldemar's thoughts. The last guardian can no longer keep his heart locked away alone. High above in the window, Sir Hiss moved for the first time. Slowly, he raised his head. And although great distance lay between them, Waldemar suddenly knew with absolute certainty: Sir Hiss was looking directly at him. Before anyone could speak, the device suddenly began to pulse frantically. The golden light no longer shot calmly up toward the castle, but flickered erratically through the mist like living lightning, and somewhere deep within the fortress, a dull metallic thud suddenly sounded, so heavy and powerful that even the ancient guardians bowed their heads in alarm. High above in the window, Sir Hiss moved immediately. His slender figure froze for a moment in the flickering light before abruptly turning and disappearing into the castle's interior. At the same time, the device in Waldemar's hands began to vibrate so intensely that he could barely hold it. New lines appeared on the surface, glowing like liquid gold, and amidst the symbols, a single sign, like an eye, suddenly opened. The guardian of the threshold took a startled step back. "The chamber has been opened," he whispered, an uncharacteristic fear in his voice. Deep underground, the sound was no longer just the slow beat of a heart. Something else had been added: deep, slow breathing. Robin Hood immediately reached for his bow, while behind him the great bear growled restlessly and the wildcat drew its sword. Even the badger no longer looked up at the castle, but directly at the ground beneath his feet, as if afraid something might move there at any moment.
