Of All the Gibberish in the World
Of all the gibberish in the world,
The nonsense loud, the babble hurled—
From tangled tongues to scripts absurd,
The strangest lines I’ve ever heard:
The mumbled chant of market cries,
The jargon spun by wealthy guys,
The tangled terms in lawyer-speak,
The tweets that twist, the news that’s weak.
Politicians spin their tales so fine,
A stew of words—no truth, just shine.
Ads that promise, sleek and slick,
Yet say so much and mean so quick.
The mumbled songs on radios old,
The half-heard phrases, lost in cold.
The mumbled prayers, the whispered lies,
The drunken shouts ‘neath neon skies.
But of all the noise that fills the air,
The sounds that spin without a care,
The sweetest gibberish, soft and true,
Is "I love you"—though garbled too.
