More about Against a Wall of Worries (Poem)

Against a Wall of Worries

I stand against a wall of fears,
Stacked high by doubts of passing years;
A fortress built of whispered dread,
Of thoughts unspoken, left unsaid.

It looms with shadows cold and steep,
Where restless doubts refuse to sleep;
Each stone a sigh, each crack a cry
Of moments when I failed to try.

Yet still I rise, though tremors press,
And breath grows tight beneath distress;
For courage is a tempered art—
A quiet rising of the heart.

I touch the wall; it does not rage.
It mirrors simply my own cage.
The weight I feared was carved by me—
A sculptor of anxiety.

So brick by brick, I start to part
The burden rooted in my heart;
A ray slips through—its golden thread
Unspools the knots of things I dread.

And with that light, the shadows break;
The fears grow thin, the doubts unmake.
I learn that strength is born within,
Not from the world, but how I begin.

Against this wall I now stand tall,
No longer bound by its old call;
For worries fade when truth is clear—
The heart outlasts the shape of fear.
