A grove of twisted, ancient trees stands in silent formation, their trunks gnarled like frozen figures in prayer. The canopy above is thick, suffocating, blocking all but the faintest slivers of light. The air is damp, heavy with the scent of decaying leaves. The silence is wrong—too deep, too absolute. Footsteps make no sound here. The deeper one ventures, the more the trees seem to lean inward, as if the grove itself is closing in, waiting for something unknown.
