Inspired byA scene of an 1800s log jail house with a hole in the side where a man has escaped. In the foreground, a sheriff dressed in traditional clothing from the 1800s. His expression and posture is indicative of his poverty and station in life. He is surrounded by the beautiful Appalachian hills deep in a Kentucky hollow. The atmosphere is full of dread and questions.
A log cabin, nestled in a mountainous landscape, features a dark wooden shingle roof and a brick chimney, while a man in a dark brown coat and hat stands with his back to the viewer, looking towards the cabin. The man stands on a grassy path with a few rocks, some dry grass, and tree branches in the foreground. In the background, rolling hills covered with trees stretch into the distance under a pale blue and white sky.
