Windows collapsed boarders bring people together across vast distances. A simple touch and guided direction at portal points allow for sending an image of oneself to a connected remote location. The evolution of television to virtual reality led screens to wrap themselves around their users as the beams of light signaling to eyes widened to become waves across a body, waves flowing in both directions.

Shimmers move in the lived environment as semi solid bodies guided remotely, further dissolving the bounds of distance between communities. Bus, train, boat, plane still options for getting to distant locations yet the simplicity of luggage free travel, smaller footprint on the environment, nearly instant jetlag free transit times, and peaceful travel led many to flock to shimmering rather than getting to distant shores in traditional ways.
