I know you wonder have you changed? How you came to be this way. Would old friends not recognize you?
You drew upon inspiration manifested a fortune then absconded. May I hazard a guess? This is just a minds trick, a mess, a trap created, a figment of ghosts not laid to rest.
My guess if you asked them then or now, if this future would come to pass. They would tell you to hit the gas, never look back.
You made it on your own, you out maneuvered others, always one step ahead. Not only that did you make it, you did so with class, karmic grace.
Mr. Perfectly Fine isn't worth your time. Anyone that would allow themselves to be so cold isn't worth this hate. Anyone that so easily lets go of their vow, never intended to keep it anyhow.
Actresses often portray saints, they play the part until it comes time to pay karma for past crimes. Then it is all too often a fair-weather valentine. Ghosts of lovers past will be a battle all couples will have to wage. This is a fight only worth the risk when you know love is true not immature, or past due.
In the world of men, our life is much colder then many women would expect. This never translates easily, women usually only experience the this chill when they see a man willing to summarily abandon the warmth they have provided. Letting the chill be blown their way.
Men often know other men in fear, they know the strength of this chill. They know what men will do to protect their bonds real or not. Women may play, treating another's lover with hapless advances. Especially if jealous of their rivals love. Men know this, they also know for other men this is a very dangerous, it can easily escalate to a life or death sort of thing.
Yet both men and women not always divide love upon gender, there is no monopoly on distrust. People will abandon bonds of love in their own way. Sometimes it is a twist of fate, while other times feelings were strong, however couldn't be backed up by the bond underneath.
Knowing this love has caused me to abandon all other games. I see a worth while fight, a timeless dialog of wax and wane. I never saw this love coming, and you. Indeed I saw the precipice myself. Busy lives condition us for the touch and go.
Know my mind will not change, no more hurting from your love, or fading with time. Pain will be there, and more will come. Everyone has to face it, you're mistaken if you think you're alone. I am never above my love, this coldness I know is death of love. You may be with someone, yet still alone.
Ever, and Evermore,
Aaron Baker
PS. I stand bare, in love I only wish to play good and right. No more ruthless love for you dear. Starting of a golden age, our labyrinth has an exit, may the gods smile upon us. May the hands of fate applaud our way.
