ArtistIn times of climate change, lobsters have adapted to a terrestrial habitat. They have converted their gills into lung-like, vascularized branchiostegal lungs, allowing them to forage for small prey in a moist woodland environment. The lobsters are well protected by their carapace, whose colors blend in perfectly with the greens and browns of the forest floor. They have no natural enemies and have invaded the woodland habitat, crowding out more vulnerable small mammals. The rich food sources of the woodland have allowed the lobsters to grow to twice the size they had as ocean dwellers. The image is a close-up of several lobsters foraging. The style is a biological illustration with scientific precision, drawn as line art in bold colors
Lobsters go terrestrial in this imaginary consequence of climate change.
