More about Gilded Horizons and Brass Optics

A waist-high profile painting of a young woman with brown hair braided into a bun and wearing a dark blue, collarless leather outfit looking up with her hands on a brass-plated device, against a backdrop of a landscape with trees and a lake under a cloudy sky. The woman is wearing a dark blue, collarless leather outfit with a gold chain and a yellow-orange stone on the right shoulder and a black cloth covering her neck. The woman's hands are on a brass-plated device that looks like a combination of a telescope and a rifle, which is held in her left hand and pointed upwards. The woman's head is tilted upward, her eyes looking at the sky. The woman is in profile, with her face turned to the left. The background is a landscape with trees and a lake under a cloudy sky, with the sun shining through the clouds. The trees have autumn-colored leaves, and the lake is calm. The background is framed by large, ornate, golden metallic arches and circles, some of which are attached to the trees and others of which are floating in the air. The light in the painting is warm and golden, as if from the setting sun.
