Retro Ship and Sci-Fi Skies

More about Retro Ship and Sci-Fi Skies

Digital illustration shows an old-fashioned three-mast sailing ship sailing in the ocean, while in the sky, futuristic spaceships and flying saucers fly, one large spaceship is emitting orange fire and sparks, and moons are visible in the sky amidst billowing clouds.

Note: This comes from the same basic materials as Gilded Cosmos and Glass Spheres picture simply presented to the program in reverse order. There is, as far as I can see, nothing in either of the original images to suggest either a sailing ship or a space ship. Deep Dream, however has certain habits probably developed from the users. One of them is a strong tendency to avoid abstraction, which is to say that it will almost always make abstract things into pictures, yes, even Jackson Pollock. I know because I have tried it. Another is that it strongly prefers naturalistic pictures, which is to say that if you give it a picture drawn by a first grader it will return a relatively adult image. I have also tried that. The other thing I notice is that if you give it generic human beings in text or image it will give you, often, pretty girls, which the program will often undress at least in part for no obvious reason.
