Meshrooms 04 - one of the many "Node Structures" scattered about the Meshmind's planet. They seem to be analogous to a neural cluster, a brain's lobe, or even an entire brain

Although the Structures' features resemble the architecture used by human-sized species, the features are so large that they dwarf such species and would be unusable by them, although non-anthropomorphic species might be able to use these Structures somehow, as might titanic humanoids.

In any case, the clearly architectural form of the Structures suggest that *something* must have been involved in the Meshminds' operation at one point, perhaps even creating the Meshminds.

However, no known species past or present has ever been able to 'activate' or otherwise manipulate the Meshminds in any way. Meanwhile, the Meshminds continue to function as they always have. Soon, all of this will change, when a brilliant young woman enters a Structure and begins to study it... (writing prompt intro)

Meshminds are able to perceive reality beyond our four-dimensional understanding, and they are even able to change reality itself to some degree. Scientists do not understand how Meshminds do this, but they think that it has something to do with the alteration of quantum entanglement patterns.
