The top of the tower of a Romanesque castle with a gallery behind the battlements around the conical roof. Four cats stand on the battlements, their front paws resting on the battlement railing and looking somewhere into the distance, one has its paw little rised and its mouth slightly open. In the background are hills, forests, a village visible in the distance next to the tower and a blue sky with white clouds above. Colorful, oil on canvas.
The cats visited a medieval castle, enjoying the view of the country over the battlements on the smaller of the towers.
According to the specifications, the castle should be Romanesque. The tower superstructure is obviously Renaissance, judging by the shape of the vault. It is the kind that must have steel rods between the arches of the vault to capture horizontal forces, and they are also visible in the rear arches. Apparently this is a newer superstructure.
