The background dissolves into sparse, erratic beads —some clustered like fireflies, others sparse as distant stars—hinting at a moonlit teahouse garden without fully defining it, leaving the geisha suspended between reality and dream. A single cherry blossom, drifting across the composition, is rendered in such finely graduated stippling that it seems to tremble on the paper, its petals nearly translucent where the dots thin to almost nothing.
