Agatha Misty and her two companions had a perilous journey home. Everywhere, guards attempted to stop them for Lord Laverno had given order to arrest them at all costs. They were forced to hide in bushes, cut off from all news. Finally they managed to escape Antonesia and return to Caninia. There Agatha Misty presents the incontestable proof of Antonesia's guilt to King Charles Spaniel.
King Charles Spaniel is torn between anger at the ant's crime and grief at the loss of his trusted adviser, Lord Dogula. But he wastes no time. He sends a messenger to his wife, Queen Aphrodite Giant of Purrsepolis and Queen Cobriel of Snakelorien to inform them of this new development. Then he summons the Ant-bassador and sends him back to Antonesia with a carefully worded letter demanding that the country return the tennis balls immediately. Fearful of what Antonesia might do, he also gives order to muster his army and strenghthen the border watch.
