ArtistDiorama sunset. 16:9 full frontal, straight-on close up of a large-scale, highly intricate diorama representing a magnificent sunset. The background is made of several layered sheets of differently colored, delicate, exquisitely marbled paper in sunset colors ranging from bright orange-yellow near the setting sun through magenta and lavender-turquoise all the way to a dark blue at the very top of the diorama. The clouds are hung three-dimensionally in front of the painted background, floating as perfect, wispy, cotton balls dyed in sunset shades, pink on top and gold on the bottom. The blazing, orange-yellow sun made of strongly structured, thick paper, is about to disappear behind the horizon line. The horizon and the landscape in front of the horizon are created by layering several sheets of thick handmade paper into which dried plants, petals, and threads are integrated to make a pattern consistent with vegetation on gentle, rolling hills. Trees with trunks made of countless parallel paper rolls in brown shades flank the sunset on the left and right sides of the diorama, recreated in three-dimensional paper art. The trees have myriads of dense, quilled and crushed paper leaves, and intricate twigs, branches and bark-patterned trunks. Just like the clouds, the trees are finely detailed. The composition is simple, whereas the rendering with all different types of paper is extremely painstaking and detailed. The impression on the viewer is of a miniature, breathtaking, three-dimensional sunset scene showcased in a diorama.
