Finally the last chamber of the cavern is in sight. If you made good time through the rest of the cave system (and didn't try to take anything) you may have made it in time for the late-afternoon sun to peek through the exit for a magnificent final performance. When sunlight strikes the stalactites in this room, they lose their ruddy complexion and turn as clear as a diamond and cast lights that glitter like opals. With such a narrow aperture to the outside, this view is only available for a few minutes a day and only for part of the year.
