ArtistStone art sunrise. 16:9 full width gemstone art sunrise. Close-up of a large panel of stone art extending beyond the edges of the image. The stonemason artist polished diverse large and small plates of minerals and semiprecious gemstones, such as banded agates and onyx, tiger’s eye, chalcedony, quartz, amethyst, smoky quartz, peridot, citrine, and dalmatian jasper, in thin, translucent, flat plates and mounted them on a very large transparent background. The stones have highly intricate, innate patterning and astonishingly bright mineral colors across a rainbow range of colors. The artist carefully positioned the gemstones to show the desired motif: A sunrise over a hilly landscape. The hills have hedges that stand out in particularly strongly patterned translucent stone cuts of multibranched, crystal dendrites and other gemstones. The sun is made of shiny, reflective pyrite, with sunrays of transparent, golden amber, the sky of translucent mother of pearl with quartz and marble cluds. The distant hills are laid out in azurite, blue opal, and sodalite, the treelines are made of tiger’s eye and tree agate, the closer treelines of dendritic agate, and the closer hills of green stones like malachite and olivine. The stones are thoughtfully combined to let hills, treelines, and a gentle rolling landscape at sunrise appear. The jumble of stones as well as the judicious placement of the cut thin stones, along with the uniform, intense backlighting to bring out the full colors of the stones, allow the exquisitely detailed landscape to come alive in viewers’ eyes. Amazing, highly valuable contemporary stone art with a universal motif.
