Chapter 43 – The House of the Unchosen – Part 1 – The Mara Behind the Wrong Door REFERENCE IMAGES — use them strictly in this order: 1. CR-01a – Mara: preserve her exact face, golden-blond hair, freckles, forest-green tunic, dark trousers, brown boots and green wrist ribbon. 2. CR-17 – Liora: preserve her exact face, golden hair, blue eyes, freckles, moss-green clothing, boots and green wrist ribbon. 3. CR-01b – Linora: preserve her exact face, dark-blond hair, blue-grey eyes and deep-blue tunic. Create a cinematic 4:3 realistic painterly fantasy-storybook illustration inside a mysterious wooden chamber of the Cottage. In the foreground, Mara stands protectively beside Liora. Both look toward a newly opened wooden doorway on the opposite side of the chamber. Inside the doorway stands one alternate version of Mara, also based on CR-01a. She has the same face and golden-blond hair but wears a slightly different forest-green tunic. Her green wrist ribbon has no black marking. A small antique wooden key hangs from her belt. Her expression is serious, tired and accusatory. The main Mara stands outside the doorway with a fine black line across her green wrist ribbon. Make the two versions easy to distinguish: main Mara is beside Liora in the chamber; alternate Mara remains framed inside the open doorway. Behind the alternate Mara is a perfectly preserved version of the chamber with orderly bookshelves, an intact circular pattern on the floor and warm golden light. The chamber occupied by the main Mara is older, misty and partially damaged. Liora stands close to the main Mara and looks uncertainly between the two versions. Linora stands several steps behind them, newly arrived through a thin silver opening in the wall, watching the confrontation with concern. On the wooden wall above the doorway, faint magical letters begin forming the unfinished phrase “HOUSE OF THE UNCHOSEN”. Keep the lettering subtle but readable. Strong emotional composition, soft volumetric blue and golden light, detailed wooden textures, floating dust and a tense but family-friendly atmosphere. Preserve all faces and clothing from the reference images. Exactly two versions of Mara, one Liora and one Linora. No other people, no extra keys, no title, caption or speech bubble. Add only a small clean white unicorn emblem in the bottom-right corner.

Chapter 43 The House of the Unchosen Part 1 The Mara Behind the Wrong Door
“Liora, you chose the wrong one.” The voice behind the new door was Mara’s, but it spoke with a weariness she had never heard in herself. Liora moved closer to her. The sign—THE ROOM THAT CHOSE YOU—swung although there was no wind. Mara reached for the handle. The older Mara caught her arm. “Do not open it.” “You knew it would appear.” “I knew one of the unchosen rooms would find us. Not which one.” The handle turned again. “Ask her what she remembers,” Liora said. Mara faced the door. “What happened on the green hill?” Silence followed. Then the other Mara answered, “You tied the ribbon around Liora’s wrist. The wizard closed the record. The house began building paths. You chose to leave with the memory.” The older Mara shook her head. “That is not what happened.” “It happened to her,” Liora whispered. Lumio flashed: CONFLICTING RECORD — BOTH COMPLETE. Biblior stepped nearer. “Two complete records cannot occupy the same beginning.” “They can if one was never chosen,” said Memoris. The Cottage groaned. The unfinished name spread across the walls: HOUSE OF THE UNCHOSEN— New letters tried to form, but the plaster cracked before they became readable. Linora forced herself through the silver doorway. Sir Fegelot and Madam Arabica tumbled after her before it snapped shut. The new door swung inward. Behind it stood Mara. She had the same golden hair, blue eyes and green tunic, but no black line crossed the ribbon around her wrist. A small wooden key hung from her belt. “You were supposed to choose me,” she told Liora. Mara stepped between them. “She was not supposed to choose any version of me.” “That is what you say because she chose you.” The other Mara crossed the threshold. The room behind her was a copy of the chamber, but empty and undamaged. Its circle remained whole. “Which record are you from?” Biblior asked. “The one in which Mara kept her promise.” “I kept it,” Mara said. “You forgot Liora.” “To stop the Cottage from taking her.” “And while you forgot, it watched her for years.” Liora stared at the floor. “Is that true?” “I don’t know,” Mara admitted. The other Mara held out her hand. “I do.” The older Mara moved in front of Liora. “She knows only what her room gave her.” “As do you.” “I removed the ending.” “And I lived inside it.” Tiktora chimed. The broken circle on its face showed three curved lines. Lumio displayed: MARA — PRESENT: THREE. Mara counted herself and the other two. “Why three?” The Mara from the door looked at the older one. “Because she has been pretending to be your future.” The chamber went still. “You have no silver in your hair because of time,” she continued. “You have it because the room could not remember its colour.”
