Lion-sun, sun-lion

More about Lion-sun, sun-lion

Two-panel surrealist black-and-white ink drawing with a splash of color. The left panel shows a glowing, yellow sun with a human-like, serene face, featuring almond-shaped eyes, a pointed nose, and a neutral mouth. The sun has wavy, pointed rays extending outward, and it is positioned above a black-and-white checkered floor against a dark, stippled background. The right panel features a black-and-white ink drawing of a proud lion standing on all fours, facing left, with a detailed mane and a long tail. The lion is set against a hypnotic background of concentric square patterns that create an optical illusion of depth, drawing the viewer's eye toward the center. The entire artwork is framed by a thin black border, emphasizing the contrast between the surreal sun and the optical lion.
