An atmosphere of surreal gender-bending exuberance set against a backdrop of lighthearted, theatrical nightmare.
A detailed, full-color illustration in a gothic and fantastical style, reminiscent of Tim Burton’s character design and Edward Gorey’s detailed line work. In the foreground on the left, a man with a wild mop of black hair, dressed in a dark purple velvet coat with high collars, leans in close to a woman with bright pink, messy hair wearing a low-cut corset with a red beaded necklace. They are both holding wine glasses. Below them, a seated androgynous figure in a flowing, ruffled-collar shirt and purple jacket reclines on a chair, holding a wine glass and looking confidently at the viewer. To their left on a small wooden table, a burning candle stands in a gold holder next to a human skull, small blue potion bottles, and a carved pumpkin.
In the center, a woman with a shaved head and a bare back wearing a striped corset and long skirt stands facing right. Behind her, a pale, black-haired man in a dark coat and lace ruff holds a wine glass, talking to a tall woman
