In Farsi, there are four different words for friendship. They don’t describe levels like “kind of friends” or “besties forever,” but rather types of closeness — each with its own depth:
Doost (دوست) is someone you knows you.
Yaar (یار) stays when others quietly walk away.
Rafigh (رفیق) shares a struggle, a belief, a direction.
Hamrah (همراه) walks with you — especially when the road gets rough.
A whimsical gnome stands beside a park bench, wearing a long coat and a tall, pointed hat. A soft glow surrounds him, casting a shadow reminiscent of his figure, adding a magical ambiance.
