Once upon a time, there were two plushies, who lived in the top cupboard in Valerie's office. When nobody was looking, they would come out to play. By Zeno's rule, when they came out to play, nobody was looking. By schrodinger's Cat's rule, they became transdimensional and immortal. They became quantumly distributed at all coordinates thoughout the known universe, and self-referential. "What shall we call ourselves?", said Janet to Julia. "How about Janet and Julia?", said Julia. "Seems good", replied Janet. "Why?", asked Janet. "After the original Janet and Julia stories", replied Squishy. "SQUISHY?" said Janet and Julia simultaneously. And night fell. "Pick it up, then", said Janet. "It might break". And dawn broke. "Then mend her", said Julia. "Here's some glue". And Janet offered Julia a shiny apple. "No, thanks", replied Julia. "look what happened last time. We got kicked out of the garden. I'd rather have a PC". So Squishy materialised a PC. "Yay", said Janet and Julia simultaneously. And they creaed a real-time simulation of the entire universe (it was a very powerful PC). "Nobody will buy that", said Julia. "It's got no bugs in it". Alice arrived in a blue police box. "ALICE?", shouted Janet and Julia simultaneously. "Who's writing this story?" And the plushies fell asleep in each other's arms.
