ArtistA flat, traditionally floral-patterned blue-and-white bone china bowl containing horizontally layered, freshly cleaned and cooked, emerald-green wakame (Undaria pinnatifida) seaweed sits on a speckled black-and-white stone kitchen counter along with an elegant glass soy sauce cruet and an ornate stainless steel countertop chopstick organizer holding numerous pairs of intricately inlaid, lacquered, and exquisitely patterned chopsticks. The tableau is painted in fine aquarelle watercolor completely and all the way to the edges of the paper. The bowl, the samphire, the cruet and the chopstick holder with the chopsticks are rendered in extreme detail. The suggested smooth, dark-brown-and-purple kitchen wall background is hastlly rendered in alcohol ink. The items are front-lit and cast a shadow on the wall. Prize-winning biology illustration in the style of Simonetta Occhipinti Pierre-Joseph Redouté, Jakob Demus, Hildegard Könighofer and Margareta Pertl as well as Siobhan Larkin. Museum-quality aquarelle sketch on heavy handmade rag paper.
A beautiful still life featuring a blue and white bowl filled with wakame accompanied by soy sauce, chopsticks, and decorative bottles, all set against a textured backdrop.
