Port City

Step 1

+   Prompt: Atlantis was said to be a wealthy city with abundant natural resources, including precious metals and rare exotic plants. The people of Atlantis were said to be highly advanced in agriculture, engineering, and other fields, and they were skilled sailors and warriors. However, according to Plato's account, the Atlantean civilization became corrupt and decadent, and the gods punished them by sending a series of natural disasters, including earthquakes and floods, that destroyed the city and its people. While the story of Atlantis remains a popular legend, there is no concrete evidence to suggest that the city ever existed. Some scholars believe that Plato's account was a fictional tale meant to illustrate the dangers of hubris and the importance of virtue and morality. Others believe that Atlantis may have been based on real events or places, but that the details of the story have been embellished over time.
