N.B. El Círculo de los Protectores is elsewhere called The Circle of the Protectors (masc.), and consists of a group of powerful male Grigorii Witches, who rally in defense of the matriarchal group El Círculo de las Vigilantes. Like their female counterparts, they are noteworthy because they do not need to consume human protein and cholesterol to maintain their powers. Hence, they do not associate with other Grigorii, but they know better than to oppose them, i.e., because they would be hopelessly outnumbered. This is true even though there are very many of these Witches and they participate in human society fully, often achieving positions of wealth and influence ; on the other hand, they avoid notoriety in any form. Nonetheless, they are the Grigorii usually encountered, and humans may never meet the other, anthropophagic kind.
