I'm 75, born and bred New Yorker, and a lifelong creator. I’ve worn many artistic hats - painter, builder of ceramic sculptures, drawer, silkscreen printer, muralist, designer, teacher, collaborator with AI generators, and gardener.
Although I don't have a garden now, I take care of deadheading many flowering plants in public venues.
This is an important job. I think the way a plant thinks...I've done my hard job for the year, I sprouted a seed, gained weight, became wide, high, leafy, vigorous and grew flowers. And that's it. When my flowers die on my vines and stems, they will produce new seeds. I no longer need to make the tremendous effort to bloom, the shows over.
We need to convince the plant to continue making these wonderful flowers for the humans, the wind and the bees. Deadheading-: to remove the faded flowers of (a plant) to promote reblooming by preventing seed production.
This artwork I've been doing - collaboration with AI generators, adds a modern twist to my artistic repertoire. It has been 3 years of deadheading so I could continue blooming.................................. This is what I think. Join me.
