Prompt: The Lord has a case against His people,
And He calls them to court, as the steeple.
He asks, "What have I done to you?
That you've turned away, and your ways pursue?"
He reminds them of His faithfulness,
And how He's been there, through all their mess.
He's shown them mercy, and kindness too,
But they've forgotten, and their hearts grew cold, anew.
The Lord doesn't want sacrifices or gold,
But justice, mercy, and humility to behold.
He wants them to do what is right and just,
To love mercy, and in His ways to trust.
Though they've strayed, there's still a chance,
To return to the Lord, and in Him, to advance.
For He is gracious, and He is kind,
And His love and mercy, are always in line.
So let us listen to His voice,
And in His ways, let us all rejoice.
For He will guide us, and show us the way,
And in His love, we'll find our stay.
Prompt: In ancient times, a prophet named Jonah
Received a command from God, a persona
"Go to Nineveh," the Lord said to him
"And preach repentance to every single sin"
But Jonah, he did not want to go
To that city full of wickedness and woe
So he fled from God's presence, far away
On a ship to Tarshish, he sailed astray
But God sent a storm, mighty and strong
That threatened to sink the ship before long
The sailors were scared and called out to their gods
While Jonah slept soundly, ignoring the odds
The captain woke him up with a start
And asked him to pray to his God with all his heart
But Jonah knew the storm was all his fault
For running away from God's holy vault
So he told the sailors to throw him overboard
And into the sea, he was quickly poured
The storm calmed down, and the sailors were amazed
By the power of God, who they now praised
As for Jonah, he was swallowed by a whale
For three long days, he was trapped in its tail
But God had a plan for his stubborn prophet
To preach to Nineveh, he would finally submit.
Prompt: Hear this word, Amos proclaimed
Of God's judgment, and his holy name
Against Israel, who had turned away
From God's ways, and led themselves astray
"Seek me and live," God's voice did call
"Turn from your sin, and follow my law
For justice will flow, like a mighty stream
But those who refuse, will face my scheme"
Seek the Lord, and live, Amos cried
For those who repent, will not be denied
But woe to those, who despise his name
And reject his love, for worldly fame
"Seek good, and not evil," Amos declared
"And love your neighbor, with a heart that's bared
For God desires, a heart that's true
And those who follow, will see him anew"
God's judgment, is a call to repent
For those who sin, and refuse to relent
A reminder of his mercy and love
To turn from sin, and seek him above
And so, Amos spoke, with truth and might
Of God's judgment, and his guiding light
A warning to all, to heed his voice
And in his love, to make the right choice.
Prompt: The Lord looked down, with eyes of love
On Israel, who had gone astray like a dove
He had called them, out of Egypt's land
And had led them, with his mighty hand
But they had turned, to idols of stone
And their hearts, were hard like a bone
They had forgotten, the Lord's great love
And had turned from him, like a lost dove
The Lord said, "How can I give you up?
My heart is torn, like a broken cup
My compassion, for you cannot cease
For you are mine, and I am your peace"
The Lord warned, of judgment to come
For Israel, who had become
Like a wayward son, who would not obey
And had turned from the Lord, day by day
The Lord said, "I will discipline you
For your sins, and your heart that's untrue
But I will not forget, my covenant of old
For my love for you, will never grow cold"
But even still, the Lord showed grace
To those who turned, and sought his face
He said, "Return to me, and I will heal
Your sins, and your wounds, I will seal"
So let us learn, from Israel's fate
And turn to God, before it's too late
For though we stray, and turn away
He'll always welcome us, back to his way.
