Chapitre 1 – Moi, Lena
Je m’appelle Lena. Pas la Lena des contes de fées ni celle que les profs espèrent voir en première de la classe. Moi, je suis un mélange de contradiction. J’ai ce visage qui semble sévère, presque froid au premier regard. Ceux qui ne me connaissent pas pensent que je suis énervée en permanence. Mais la vérité, c’est que j’ai juste un visage expressif qui me trahit sans raison. Je suis douce, même drôle parfois, mais faut savoir me lire. Je ne suis pas le genre à me dévoiler au premier venu. Je préfère observer, parler quand il faut, et frapper là où ça fait mal si on me cherche. Mon monde, je le construis comme un puzzle où je suis la seule à avoir l’image finale.
Je suis en première, j’ai sauté une classe, ou plutôt, j’ai commencé tôt. À deux ans, je parlais déjà trop bien, parait-il. Aujourd’hui, j’ai quinze ans et j’ai ce côté un peu garçon manqué. J’aime me sentir libre, ne pas coller à une image de fille modèle. Je déteste les trajets en voiture, ça me donne la nausée, mais j’adore la découverte, les endroits nouveaux, les odeurs qu’on n’oublie pas. L’odeur de la pluie, d’une voiture neuve, d’un mur fraîchement peint, d’une maison toute propre, ou celle d’un livre vieux et poussiéreux. C’est ça qui me met bien. Et puis, j’ai ce truc avec la propreté… quand je suis dans un lit propre, dans une chambre fraîche, avec des habits propres après une bonne douche, c’est presque comme une extase. Bon, des fois je suis paresseuse et je laisse un peu le bazar, mais quand je m’y mets, je veux que ça brille.
Je vis avec mes petites sœurs. Elles me rendent folle parfois, mais je les aime comme on aime une part de soi-même. Je les taquine, je les embête, mais si quelqu’un ose leur faire du mal, je deviens incontrôlable. Je ne plaisante pas avec ça. Leur douleur devient la mienne. Et ça, même mes exs n’ont jamais vraiment compris.
