  • Prompt: A magnificent black cat made entirely from folded antique maps stretches awake inside a paper artist’s workshop. Its front paws reach across the wooden worktable, shoulders lowered and hindquarters raised, while its angular head turns toward the astonished woman who created it. She stands beside the table, holding the final unfolded section of its tail: a narrow strip of atlas paper still connected to the living sculpture. Her hands have paused midway through making the last crease. Build the tiger’s anatomy through intricate, believable paper construction. Overlapping folds form its powerful shoulders, articulated paws and sharply pointed ears. Its body is warm ivory and faded ochre, covered in tiny coastlines, mountain symbols and compass markings. Dark rivers and inked boundaries curve across the folded surfaces to suggest tiger stripes. Layered paper edges create the muzzle; two small amber paper eyes catch the light. Its expression is curious and almost playful. As it stretches, one paw nudges a brass ruler toward the edge of the table. Loose map scraps flutter around its body, and its rising back lifts a sheet that had been resting across it. Nearby sit a bone folder, thread spools, neatly stacked paper and several much smaller, motionless origami animals. Keep these details secondary to the encounter between the enormous paper tiger and its maker. Present the entire scene as a meticulously crafted physical diorama, with the artist herself constructed from delicate layers of painted paper. View the table diagonally from slightly below the tiger’s head, making its folded silhouette feel impressive while keeping the woman’s surprised expression visible. Warm afternoon sunlight enters through a tall workshop window, shining through thin paper at the ears and tail, illuminating fibers and casting crisp shadows beneath every fold. Tactile craftsmanship, graceful animal movement, restrained warm colors and a clear visual story: the artist has brought something to life before she has even finished making it.
