In the foreground, thick layers of paint shape the old, worn wooden terrace, as if telling stories of times long past. The planks are light gray, streaked with traces of brown and black, carved by years of sun and rain using the palette knife technique. At the center of the terrace, a round table with a red-and-white checkered tablecloth appears, the colors applied in thick, sharp strokes. On the table – a half-empty glass of lemonade, condensation slipping down the glass, captured with careful impasto layers. Beside it, a scattered book with yellow covers, and on the edge of the table, a red cap, casually thrown, its seams detailed with fine, dense layers of paint. Ink technique – fine black lines illustrate the book’s details and the cap’s fabric texture, as well as cracks on the aged wooden planks and the branches of the chestnut tree, adding a sense of both life and antiquity to the scene. In the background, two young people – a boy in a faded T-shirt and a girl in a summer dress, painted with broad, free strokes of the knife. He leans against a terrace column, smiling, while she, caught mid-laughter, throws her head back. Their forms, though suggested, exude life and energy – the play of light and shadow on their faces achieved through careful layers of pale yellow and shadowy blue tones. Beside them, on the floor, a small dog with white fur and brown patches is painted with brisk, energetic knife strokes, as though caught in motion. Here, ink adds detail to the delicate lines outlining its ears and shadows under its paws. Around the dog, ice cream wrappers, painted with simple, light strokes of ink, emphasize a feeling of sweet, careless relaxation. Above them, the warm afternoon sun pierces through the branches of old chestnut trees, their leaves layered and almost textured, shifting from green to gold under the strikes
