  • Prompt: In a remote, ancient, early-medieval mountain hut—haunted, spooky, and very rustic—an unusual group has gathered to celebrate the birthday of Chevalier Yvain de Leonais. Yvain stands behind an oval, weathered, and gnarled wooden table adorned with Celtic carvings; two large candles illuminate the otherwise rather dim room. Yvain appears as shown in reference image 1—a Dungeons & Dragons knight (a Fighter of the Cavalier archetype). He wears a chainmail coif and hauberk, though his chest and head remain uncovered. Over this, he wears a quartered surcoat in black and red, featuring a golden heraldic lion on the chest—the lion wears a silver crown and holds a silver harp in its paws. The D&D knight also wears dark brown gloves and a leather belt, from which hang a scabbard containing a longsword, a small pouch, and an elegant dagger. He has medium-length, dark brown hair, a magnificent Van Dyke beard, radiant blue-green eyes, and a friendly smile. He appears noble, kind-hearted, and virtuous. His sword and shield lean against the wall; instead of holding them, he raises a silver chalice for a birthday toast. Also seated at the large, oval wooden table is Sir Jupp—an elderly, friendly, slender, skeletal knight clad in rusted medieval chainmail and a rusted nasal helmet, who clinks a wooden tankard in a toast—along with his best buddy, DEATH (the Grim Reaper). Death wears a dark, hooded black robe; his skeletal face, hidden beneath the hood, reveals glowing, bright blue eyes. He holds a scythe—its blade shimmering with a greenish hue—and, in his other skeletal hand, a golden, hourglass-shaped chalice. On the table, one can see an awesome, majestic brown tabby cat with glowing green eyes; "Murray"—an old, weathered human skull etched with magical runes and featuring fiery, burning eye sockets—with a black raven named Quoth (who has glowing red eyes) perched on top, letting out croaks; and a rat skeleton clad in a black hooded robe—complete with a hooded, earless rat skull and bright, shining blue eyes ("The Grim Squeaker" / "Death of Rats")—wielding a small, greenish-shimmering scythe, while secretly snacking on some cheese and crackers. Also on the table are old earthenware decanters and small amphorae filled with honey mead and hypocras wine, along with a medieval-style birthday cake for Yvain. Binky—DEATH’s magnificent, pale white stallion—enters through the narrow, open door. Beyond the windows and the door, one can see a cool, dark winter night illuminated by the aurora borealis, the moon, and the stars. In the other corner, a cozy fire burns in the hearth; nearby stands a medium-sized wooden barrel of dark beer, alongside Yvain’s birthday gifts (a war axe and a knight’s helmet, wrapped in gift paper).
