Good Friday, somber and grave,
A day of sorrow, a day to save.
A cross on Calvary, rugged and high,
Where Jesus suffered, and let out a cry.
His love so pure, His heart so kind,
For our sins, His life resigned.
A sacrifice of divine grace,
To redeem mankind's fallen race.
The skies turned dark, the earth did shake,
As Jesus bled, for our sake.
A crown of thorns upon His head,
As He forgave, though He bled.
His body laid in a tomb of stone,
His followers left, feeling alone.
But hope arose, on the third day,
As Jesus conquered death's dismay.
Good Friday, a solemn reminder,
Of Jesus' love, so divine and tender.
A day to reflect, a day to pray,
For His mercy and grace, every day.
