Medium: black ceramic with mother‑of‑pearl and a turquoise‑coloured stone (chrysocolla) inlay; the mythological animal is the lunar animal, also called the rampant feline. It combines a catlike body and fangs, the upright ears of a fox and the crested head of a bird; the tail and hair extend backward in serpent forms. Museum display and lighting.
