A mixed-media assemblage painting of a stylized, abstract seated figure whose silhouette forms a giant keyhole shape. The figure's head and body are sculpted from heavily textured, cracked ochre and sand-colored plaster with a weathered fresco-like surface; the face is a simplified, minimalist form with a single elongated nose line and a closed, introspective expression, and a small pair of red enamel glasses sits atop the head. The figure's hair and the keyhole's outer arch are made entirely of thousands of tiny antique skeleton keys in bronze, brass, and verdigris tones, packed densely like a mosaic. Two clenched fists rest on a long ornate bronze scepter-key held horizontally across the chest, with a large ornate filigree padlock with teal patina hanging from its right end and a decorative gold key dangling from the left. Cascading from the chest and down the body are clusters of vintage padlocks and keys hanging like heavy necklaces and chains. The lower robe is a vertical patchwork of impasto palette-knife strokes in violet, teal, burnt orange, cobalt blue, and cream, each stroke resembling a tiny key or comb pattern. The arms and knees are glowing terracotta orange with horizontal stripes of white and sky blue on the sleeves. The background is a muted dusty mauve-taupe canvas with faded, ghostly translucent keys and old coins scattered across it, flecked with gold leaf and verdigris. A small gold circular signature stamp in the upper right corner. Rich thick impasto, bas-relief sculptural depth, warm museum lighting, Klimt-meets-Byzantine-icon aesthetic, symbolic and meditative, highly detailed, fine art gallery quality, 4:5 vertical portrait.
A richly detailed, textured artwork depicts a stylized figure in a meditative pose, surrounded by an intricate collection of keys and locks. The central figure, with textured golden-yellow skin and closed eyes, sits cross-legged. It wears a robe made of mosaic-like tiles in shades of orange, purple, white, and blue, and is adorned with numerous necklaces composed of gold-colored keys and padlocks hanging heavily from the neck. Bright red, round glasses sit atop its head. The figure holds a long, ornate key horizontally across its hands. Attached to the left end of the key is another ornate gold key dangling by a chain, and hanging from the right end is a large, ornate, turquoise-patinated padlock. The figure is positioned within an arched, keyhole-shaped niche, the backdrop of which is densely packed with hundreds of vintage keys in various shapes and sizes. The surrounding wall is a distressed, textured surface in shades of brown, mauve, and gold, featuring embedded coin-like medallions, stylized sunbursts, and individual keys scattered across the surface. In the upper right corner, a circular seal with letters and Roman numerals is visible.
