ArtistThis time the bag of letters gave me the word ogen (eyes). For an artist, having eyes is quite important. In fact, it often starts with looking very closely. Sometimes to the world outside your head, sometimes to the world inside your head. It has been said that eyes are mirrors of the soul. In it you see the truth as a reflection of your being. There are many expressions with an eye in them. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. An old form of justice that actually indicates that the suffering you have caused someone else is also returned to you. It's clear. Cutting off a hand for theft or being hanged, as in old England, rather ignores this principle. What is justice when people have done something wrong to you? Restorative justice is a beautiful thing. The perpetrator is asked what he wants to do to make things right and the victim can indicate what he or she needs. This means that you must have an objective view of the suffering. The huiskamerartiest can think things through and notices that understanding how something happened does not automatically lead to understanding. It's quite complicated to do really well. Whether or not to color this drawing. Fortunately, both are possible here. What do you prefer?
A man with a beard peers through binoculars, illuminating a vibrant landscape filled with abstract shapes and patterns, dominated by a large, colorful eye looming in the background.
