ArtistIn the colorful Mushroom Land, where fly agarics grew as tall as trees, lived a herd of spiky hedgehogs. They were known for their curious noses and love to sniff around the soft moss beds. One hot summer day, when the sun shone down through the colorful mushroom caps, the hedgehogs decided to have a big party. They invited all their friends from the forest – the little mice, the jumping rabbits and the colorful butterflies. The party was to be held under the largest fly agaric in all of Mushroom Land. It was so big that it looked like a giant red tent with white dots. The hedgehogs had gathered all their favorite things for the party. There were mountains of leaves to jump on, a big pile of apples to roll with and a lot of delicious berries to eat. But it was the fly agaric that was the centerpiece of the party. The little hedgehogs climbed up its smooth stem and slid back down. They hid under its broad hat and peeked out like little, pointed surprises. As the sun began to set and the stars lit up the sky, the hedgehogs sang songs and danced under the big toadstool. It was a night they would never forget. And even though they knew the toadstool was poisonous, they weren't afraid of it. To them it was just a big, red playground in the middle of Mushroom Land.
