A small, secluded cove on the island of Brač, Croatia, during the preparations for an intimate seaside wedding. The central action is the installation of a rustic wedding arch made entirely from natural, weathered branches and slender olive-wood limbs. Its organic, slightly irregular shape feels handmade and connected to the Mediterranean landscape, not manufactured or perfectly symmetrical. Two friends carefully lift the wooden arch into position on the pale limestone terrace, while another person secures its base and checks that it stands firmly. Our recognizable ginger-haired girl, with long flowing copper-red hair and subtle natural freckles across her nose and upper cheeks, helps steady one side of the structure. She wears a flowing ivory linen dress. Her close Black female friend, with dark textured locs and a small decorative ring woven into one loc, hands her a bundle of delicate white flowers and fresh olive branches.
