More about The Vampire Diaries: Bloodlust (Poem)

Bloodlust

At dusk, the town exhales a borrowed breath,
Magnolia shadows lengthen into sin,
Where immortality rehearses death
And crimson vows are quietly sworn in.

Veins hum like secrets under pale skin’s grace,
A thirst that scripture failed to ever tame;
Love stands accused, yet pleads its fragile case
Before the court where hunger speaks its name.

Blood is not rage alone, nor merely need—
It is remembrance, grief made liquid fire,
The echo of each century-long creed
That chains the heart to what it must desire.

To drink is choice; to crave is ancient law.
Between the two, the monster learns to wait.
Red lips betray what conscience still sees flaw,
While mercy trembles, late but not too late.

Eyes glow with sins they swear they won’t repeat,
Fangs pause where guilt and longing intersect.
For even beasts, when standing at love’s feet,
Still ache to be forgiven, not perfected.

Thus bloodlust sings—seduction wrapped in ache,
A hymn where love and horror intertwine.
And every night, the soul must choose to take
Or starve itself to prove it’s still divine.
