ArtistMont Ventoux über die klassische Auffahrt ab Bédoin ist die berühmteste und anspruchsvollste Rennradtour am Berg. Die Route führt automatisch über Chalet Reynard und am Tom-Simpson-Denkmal vorbei. Insgesamt erwarten dich rund 43–45 km (hin und zurück) mit etwa 1.600 hm. Die eigentliche Auffahrt ist ca. 21,5 km lang und hat durchschnittlich 7,5 % Steigung. Start: Bédoin (ca. 300 m) Abschnitt 1: Bédoin → Saint-Estève * Distanz: ca. 6 km * Steigung: 4–6 % * Ideal zum Einrollen. * Trinkflaschen vor dem Waldstück noch einmal kontrollieren. Abschnitt 2: Saint-Estève → Chalet Reynard * Distanz: ca. 10 km * Steigung: meist 9–10 % * Der härteste Teil der gesamten Auffahrt. * Gleichmäßiges Tempo fahren und nicht überziehen. * Fast komplett im Wald und dadurch meist schattig. Pause am Chalet Reynard (1.440 m) Hier lohnt sich ein kurzer Halt: * Wasser nachfüllen * Kaffee oder Cola * Riegel oder kleines Sandwich * Noch etwa 6 km bis zum Gipfel Ab hier beginnt die berühmte kahle Mondlandschaft des Ventoux. Abschnitt 3: Chalet Reynard → Monument Tom Simpson * Distanz: ca. 4,5 km * Offenes Gelände. * Häufig kräftiger Wind. * Fantastische Aussicht. Halt am Monument Tom Simpson Tom Simpson Memorial liegt etwa 1,5 km unterhalb des Gipfels. Viele Radfahrer legen dort eine kurze Pause ein und erinnern an den britischen Profi, der hier 1967 während der Tour de France verstarb. Letzter Abschnitt zum Gipfel * Distanz: ca. 1,5 km * Teilweise nochmals 9–10 % * Ziel: Gipfel auf 1.909 m Oben erwarten dich das markante Wetterobservatorium und ein spektakulärer Rundumblick bis zu den Alpen und dem Mittelmeer – sofern die Sicht mitspielt.
