I find the story of Lilith interesting. Despite the debate and or removal from the current Bible, as were many other stories. Lilith was said to be Adams first wife. Refusing to be subordinate to Adam, she left him and the Garden of Eden. As punishment, she is turned into a demon and 100 of her children were slain. As revenge, Lilith spends eternity coming to get newborn children and take them away in the night. Her full name was Lilith Bae. (Bae, pronounced bi) She is said to be the original source of the famous Lullaby and goodnight we sing to children. The original was said to be, Lilith Bae, don't come tonight, or be good tonight, which Hebrew women sang in order to ward her off, and not take their baby in the night. This story always made sense to me, knowing how high infant mortality rates must have been at the time.
The story of Lilith is a wonderful myth.
