Holm is an ancient, immortal sorcerer whose life, like that of the Master of the Green Tree, is bound to the World Ash via his staff. The two magicians had many adventures when they were younger. However, Holm found it annoying that their stories were passed on orally by the storytellers and changed more and more over time. So, over time, he invented writing.
