Silence fell over the foursome for what seemed a long time until finally, the Queen spoke again telling the tale of her people from long ago.
A faraway smile came over her face and she turned away from them.
"It was not always like this, bathed in this dismal winter," she began, her wind-like voice sorrowfully wistful. "Long ago, my father and mother ruled as king and queen of Calodorra a land of eternal beauty, even in its normal seasons of winter. But when your people came here and began cutting down the trees, my father put a curse of everlasting winter on the wood and entrapped many of its creatures within the walls of this cave, where they can only be seen at night. Every so often there is a great quake of the earth, which has bern happening more and more of late, and with each quake, the memory of that forgotten time, painted on these walls, fades further and further from sight, further from memory, further from any chance of being freed. Now only the Emerald Arrow can save them!"
