In autumn, witches are temptingly red‑haired, They stare with their shameless eyes— brown, blue, light green— in autumn, witches are always renewed. A house in the forest, on the green edge, A warm stove and a cat as a friend, A hundred candles and a hundred years of patience, And the blessing of the ancient gods.
Three witches, two standing and one seated, are in the yard of a moss-covered cottage in an autumn forest. The two standing witches, one with long red hair and the other with long green hair, wear black dresses and pointed witch hats, holding lit candles. The witch with red hair is looking at her candle, while the green-haired witch has her eyes closed, looking down at her candle. The seated witch has long red hair, wears a black dress and a pointed witch hat, and is reading a book at a small wooden table with five lit candles. A black cat sits near a black wood-burning stove inside the cottage's open hearth. The cottage has two windows with warm light glowing from within. The ground is covered with fallen autumn leaves and small yellow and white flowers. A body of water can be seen in the background, reflecting the autumn trees and the evening sky.
