A highly detailed digital painting depicts a bustling Roman triumphal procession under a clear sky. In the foreground, people in richly colored robes and ornate headwear are gathered, some on horseback, some on foot. A central figure on a dark brown horse, dressed in gold and red, gestures with his right hand, a red banner fluttering behind him. Another rider on a white horse, also in elaborate attire, rides beside him. To the left, a man in red robes stands on a platform, reaching out as if addressing the crowd, while two women on horseback wear golden crowns and elaborate dresses. One woman in yellow and red robes kneels, seemingly in reverence.

The procession passes through a series of grand arches and columns, adorned with intricate carvings and golden accents. Behind the arches, a sprawling city unfolds with classical architecture, including a prominent clock tower and domed buildings under a blue sky with scattered clouds. In the far distance, green hills rise under the horizon.

On the right side of the image, more people on horseback, dressed in red and orange, are part of the procession, with crowds observing from balconies and along the street. A small white dog is visible near the feet of some of the onlookers.

Note: This fresco by the Italian master Piero Della Francesca is a part of a set called "The Legend of the True Cross". Actually this image is made from two paintings and you are free to interpret the image as you will but the two paintings both portray the battle of Chosroes who is being executed somewhere and Heracleon or Heracleus, the apparent victor. In those times pieces of the true cross could be purchased at the market place.
