The Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill is a striking, endemic hornbill species found only in Sri Lanka. Recognized by its long curved bill, distinctive facial markings, and loud, echoing calls, it is one of the island’s most iconic forest birds.
Unlike the Malabar Hornbill or larger Asian hornbills, Sri Lanka’s Grey Hornbill is smaller, more agile, and well adapted to dense forest canopies.
Despite its adaptability, it remains vulnerable due to the rapid loss of mature forest habitats.
