I am the human guardian of two lovely and opinionated guinea pigs as well as a golden doodle. I enjoy their company more than words can say. They are my non-judgmental life-spirit peeps. They don't share my intelligence, but definitely have their own, and their own distinct personalities too, if you are fortunate enough to ever spend enough time with them to discover for yourself.
Animals, and especially those we choose to protect as animal friends under guardianship in our care in our homes, reflect a very particular earnesty in their eyes. If you know what I'm talking about, you know what I am talking about. If you don't, I hope this image transmits some of the impression - animal friends are so dependent on us, but so are we upon them. My dog and my pigs often look at me this way, as if to say "what's next?" with complete vulnerability, trust and love. How can you not love something which accepts and needs you so? For the love of furry friends, may we all become a little more vulnerable for connection.
