A birds-eye view of a vintage playing board of the Parker Brothers game, Clue. The rooms on the board look realistic...the hall, the lounge, the dining room, the kitchen, the ballroom, the conservatory, the billiard room, the library, and the study. The various characters are on the board...Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard and the victim, Mr. Boddy. Weapons are scattered throughout: lead pipe, revolver, candlestick, rope, knife, wrench.
A version of the playing board from one of my favorite games, Clue--including an expanded cast of characters, and gadgets of all types. The game has an interesting history. I learned that it was called Cluedo outside of North America, and that it was envisioned by Anthony E. Pratt, a British board game designer, in 1943, and first manufactured in the UK in 1949. Currently owned by Hasbro, there have been many changes through the years.
After many attempts, I settled for this image. A fun experiment, but much room for improvement!
