ArtistA rainy winter morning scene in a Druidic sacred grove in an ancient French beech forest. There are rough hewn stones arranged in a circle at the center of the grove. The surrounding trees are many hundreds of years old with wide, irregular trunks. Some trees are split or have hollow centers. Light mist hangs in the air. An eerie but peaceful setting.
Fifth month of the French Republican Calendar, Pluviôse corresponds roughly to the period between January 20/21 and February 20/21. Named for the French word for "rainy," Pluviôse was the middle of three winter months, following Nivôse (snowy) and Ventôse (windy). For this image I decided to depict an ancient Celtic/Druidic sacred grove in the middle of a rainy old growth forest.
