An expressive abstract ink-and-watercolour study: A powerful, muscular figure in a dynamic pose, shedding robes, revealing crimson-hued lower garments. Bold brush strokes, fluid washes, high contrast, dramatic lighting. Tiny signature JKW
A dynamic watercolour painting in an expressive style, featuring a muscular figure with broad shoulders and a powerful stance. The figure is rendered primarily in washes of black and varying shades of red, suggesting musculature and draped fabric, possibly a cloak or cape, flowing around the body. The background on the right is a solid, dark black wash, contrasting with the stark white of the left background, which has some light black brushstrokes. The brushwork is loose and gestural, with visible strokes and splatters, giving the artwork a raw and energetic feel. The overall impression is one of strength and movement, with the colours bleeding and blending in a vibrant, almost aggressive manner. The figure appears to be looking down and to the left.
